Introduction
In his talk dr. Aledo-Serrano shared the concept of “time is brain” when discussing about increased risk of morbidity and mortality with epilepsy and how treatment practices are reflected in real-world studies. The duration of epilepsy before epilepsy surgery predicts surgery outcome1 whereas baseline ASM polytherapy is associated with a reduced risk of early death2. Evidence indicates that earlier and effective seizure control is considered essential for optimal outcomes.
